SkaFld Trailhead

A portfolio-based career-pathway program where students build employer-validated portfolios by solving real problems for local companies with AI.

The Problem

The traditional path — education, entry-level job, experience, career — is breaking. AI is automating the entry-level roles that once built experience, while credentials increasingly fail to signal real capability. This is the Experience Paradox: work samples predict job performance about 5× better than credentials (Schmidt & Hunter, 1998), yet hiring still leans on the weaker signal.

What We Did

SkaFld Trailhead teaches thinking, not tools — the Skafld Ideation Methodology as a durable, transferable skill. High-school students build employer-validated portfolios by solving real project briefs for local companies with AI, delivered on SkaFld Spark, our AI-powered K-12 platform with a Socratic coach and teacher tooling.

Portfolio Over Credentials

Students build employer-validated portfolios; a 7.0/10 employer-panel rating earns the AI-Ready Certificate.

Social Learning & Mentorship

Cross-grade near-peer mentoring, with AI scaffolding human connection rather than replacing it.

Employer Integration

Real project briefs, quarterly employer review panels, and paid micro-internships with local aerospace and tech partners.

Responsible AI Practices

Students learn why ethical boundaries matter — active judgment, not just rules.
