How it judges a deal
Rules it will not bend
- Never a blended value.
- Valuation methods are reported side by side with a verdict and a counter, never averaged into one number.
- Not a point IRR.
- Returns are proceeds across exit scenarios, run through the preference stack.
- Missing evidence is not a low score.
- A criterion with nothing to go on is marked not assessed, and research that could not run is marked not checked.
- It never contacts founders.
- Outreach and feedback are drafts. A person on your team reads them and sends them.
Questions
Before you install
Do I need a SkaFld VC platform?
No. The plugin works from the documents in your project folder. The platform add-on is only for firms that run one.
What does it cost?
The plugin is free and open source under the MIT licence. Exa research is free with rate limits. Apollo and the other connectors use your own accounts, and Apollo asks before it spends credits.
Does it contact founders or change anything in my tools?
No. The agents read connected tools, draft outreach and feedback for your team to send, and never contact a founder themselves.
Where do the files go?
Into a skafld-vc folder inside your project folder, as self-contained HTML. Ask for Word, PDF, PowerPoint or Excel and it exports those too.
Can I score against my own rubric?
Yes. Put a rubric.json in your project folder and the scorer uses it instead of the research-based default.
Does it work on claude.ai in a browser?
Partly. The local file and setup servers can't run in a browser, so agents give you the document as Markdown instead of a file.
